Crowns

If a tooth has been broken, or weakened by decay or if you have a large filling a crown could be an option for you. Shaped like natural teeth, a crown (or cap) is fitted to strengthen a tooth.

We provide high quality crowns that allow light to penetrate through the tooth giving a natural look. We can replace artificial looking, dull crowns, which may have black or grey areas showing around the gums, so that once again you will be able to smile with confidence.

How it works:

We will shape and reduce the tooth so that there is room for the new crown. An impression (mould) of the tooth is taken and sent to our laboratory. It normally takes fourteen working days from the clinical preparation stage, to the laboratory constructing the crown ready for your fit appointment. A temporary crown is fitted in this interim period. At the fit appointment, your dentist will take off the temporary crown and cement the permanent crown in place to complete your treatment.

Inlays/Onlays

Inlays and onlays are similar to fillings. However, like crowns, they are made in a laboratory and then bonded to the tooth with a special adhesive. This process, like crowns and veneers, requires more than one appointment. Inlays and onlays are very strong and are more durable than ordinary fillings. They are suitable for the grinding surfaces of the molar teeth and can be made of gold, porcelain or composite material.

Bridges

When a tooth is missing or lost leaving a gap, a bridge can be placed using crowns on the teeth next to the gap to hold a false tooth in place.
