Dentures
Worn to replace lost or missing teeth, dentures will help you eat and speak with confidence and restore your smile, making you look and feel younger. We offer a number of different types of dentures to help our patients.
A complete or full denture replaces all the natural teeth in either the upper or lower jaws. A partial denture fills in the spaces created by lost or missing teeth. Often the dentures used are acrylic dentures, but we offer a number of other options and this can be discussed with your dentist.
Having confidence in your smile is important and good dentures are a key part of building that confidence.
At Queensway we're always looking to use the best techniques and materials so that you can enjoy comfortable dentures you can trust.
Cobalt chrome dentures
Cobalt chrome dentures are partial dentures used to minimise the amount of space your denture takes up. They often give patients greater comfort and peace of mind as these dentures are designed to utilise metal clasps to keep them in place.
Flexible dentures
Flexible dentures are a comfortable alternative to a cobalt chrome or acrylic denture. These lightweight dentures completely eliminate the need for metal clasps. Most flexible dentures are fabricated without the use of a metal frame and instead made from a strong, durable plastic that snaps securely and comfortably into place around existing natural teeth and gums. The plastic used is so strong that the denture made from it can be very thin, eliminating that heavy, bulky feel which can make wearing dentures unpleasant. The colour, shape and design of flexible dentures blend in well with the natural appearance of the gums, making the denture virtually invisible.
Implant supported dentures
Many people with missing teeth struggle to keep their dentures secure (particularly in the lower jaw). This can be associated with the embarrassment of slipping dentures, not being able to eat all food types and the ineffectiveness of denture adhesives. Fortunately, with the use of dental implants, we can now stabilise your denture and give you the confidence to wear your denture effectively without embarrassment. Implant supported dentures can restore proper chewing, allowing a better diet and improved health. They can improve speech and improve comfort with less irritation of the gum tissue.
