Dr Ian Lane BDS (Hons), MFGDP, Dip SED, MSc Implant Dent
Ian qualified from Newcastle Dental School with an Honours Degree in 1998. After working at Newcastle Dental Hospital for two years as a General Professional Trainee he joined Queensway Dental Practice as a full time associate in 2000, and became a partner in 2006 alongside Paul Averley and Uzma Mansoor. In 2001 he gained his MFGDP qualification for general practice and completed a Diploma in Conscious Sedation in 2002.

Ian has been actively involved in the published research carried out at Queensway Anxiety Management Clinic pioneering conscious sedation techniques for children. He is committed to all aspects of general dentistry and enjoys caring for young and old alike. Ian has been especially interested and involved in dental implants for many years and in 2008, after 3 years of extensive training, Ian was awarded a Masters degree with distinction in implant dentistry from Warwick University. Ian has a lifelong commitment to professional development and has attended a range of other dental implant courses over the years in the UK and abroad. Ian is a member of the UK Association of Dental Implantology, and is also a regular participant in study groups regionally and nationally.

Dr Paul Averley

Dr Paul Averley BDS, DGDP (UK) RCS, Dip SED, MPhil, PhD, MSc Implant Dent
Paul qualified from Newcastle Dental School in 1990. He started his dental career in Durham, where he worked as a dental associate for two years. In 1994, he established Queensway Dental Practice and then went on to obtain his Diploma in General Dental Practice (DGDP) and Diploma in Conscious Sedation in 1997. Queensway Anxiety Management Clinic, was established as a referral service meeting the dental needs of highly anxious patients in 1998. Paul has published research regarding the use of conscious sedation in dentistry, pioneering sedation techniques for children. His special interest in this field has led to his involvement into the development of National Standards and Guidance for Conscious Sedation for England.
