Brace Treatments
Orthodontics is becoming increasingly popular with adults to straighten teeth naturally. See below for more detail on Queensway's brace treatments.
Invisalign Clear Aligners
Invisalign® consists of a series of customised, removable and virtually invisible plastic aligners that progressively straighten the teeth. There are no metal attachments or wires and each aligner is worn for two weeks, taken out only for eating and brushing.
Invisalign® works best for milder orthodontic problems. Some patients will need to go on and have a short course of fixed braces to achieve the desired result.
At your consultation there will be an opportunity to discuss the suitability of Invisalign® to give your ideal result.
Incognito Lingual Braces
Lingual braces are a fixed brace on the inside of the teeth making them virtually invisible and ideal for those patients who want the most discreet appliance, without compromise. The Incognito® system is completely customised for each patient using computer technology and fabricated in cast gold to give the highest possible quality and comfort.
Damon Low-Friction Braces
Whereas a conventional fixed brace uses tight elastic loops to hold the wire onto the brackets, Damon ‘low-friction’ braces use a sophisticated metal clip removing the need for elastics altogether.
Smaller and more rounded brackets are used that are easier to keep clean and are less likely to rub on the lips and cheeks as well as being more discreet. With the Damon system there is often a quicker treatment time than a conventional fixed brace and longer intervals between adjustment appointments: every 8-10 weeks as opposed to 6-8 weeks.
At your consultation there will be an opportunity to discuss the suitability of Invisalign® to give your ideal result.
White Fixed Braces
Tooth-coloured fixed appliances work in the same way as a metal alternative, but are made of an attractive ceramic material meaning they are much more discreet and less visible.
We use the Inovation System-C ceramic brace which, as well as looking great, has reflective metal clips instead of elastic loops, which can discolour and attract more plaque and debris.
Conventional Fixed Braces
These are small metal brackets stuck to the teeth, connected with a thin wire held in place with silver or coloured elastic loops.
Fixed appliances are a well-established and very successful method of straightening teeth, including for patients with the most complex problems.
