Specialist in Orthodontics

Having graduated with honours from the University of Newcastle, Guy completed his vocational training on Tyneside before moving to Manchester to work in the Dental
Hospital and North Manchester General Hospital as a maxillofacial senior house officer. This was followed by time as a clinical fellow in restorative dentistry and oral medicine before taking up a further maxillofacial position at Kingston and St George’s Hospitals in London. Guy completed his specialist training in orthodontics at Guy’s and Kingston Hospitals where he was awarded the Professor Walther Prize for Orthodontics. During his training he undertook a clinical and research-based MSc before obtaining the Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. Having completed training Guy worked for a large specialist orthodontic practice in south east England and in a multi-disciplinary specialist adult
private practice.

 

In addition to leading the orthodontic service at Queensway, Guy holds a visiting Specialty Doctor position in the orthodontic department at Newcastle Dental Hospital where he is actively involved in the teaching and training of orthodontic postgraduate
students.

Guy’s clinical interests include adult orthodontics, orthodontic treatment for woodwind and brass musicians and the use of lingual and self-ligating fixed appliances. Guy is a certified provider of Incognito® lingual appliances and Invisalign® clear aligners.
