The lockdown latest from Queensway Dental – May 2020

We hope you and your family are keeping safe and well during this surreal time.

We are now into week 8 of lockdown and we are truly missing seeing our patients’ smiles every day but our staff and patients’ health and wellbeing continue to be top of our agenda.

The wheels have not stopped turning at Queensway Dental and we have a small team still working to deliver an emergency dental service from our Billingham practice.

We are already planning how we will reopen the new Queensway. The safety of our staff and patients have always been of utmost importance to us but at this time we want to ensure you that we will be going above and beyond to continue to provide the reassurance of safety and protection that we are all searching for once we have been given the guidance to be able to increase our activity. Over the next couple of weeks, we will be able to share with you how we plan to do this and will share some pictures of how the practice is looking and what you can expect to see once we are able to open our doors again.

We wish you and your families all the best during this difficult period and hope you are remaining positive and using this time to appreciate loved ones and home comforts!

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Stay safe,

Queensway Dental

TOP UP YOUR WHITENING DURING LOCKDOWN

We know some of you will be missing your tooth whitening fix, which is why we are now offering all patients who have previously been prescribed whitening treatment, the chance to have your top ups delivered directly to your home! Simply call 01642 554667 and speak to one of our receptionists who will be happy to grant your wish!

Over the last couple of months, the majority of us have seen our daily routines turned upside down which could also have changed our eating and drinking habits. To help prevent dental problems from happening during lockdown, here are some top tips for great oral health…

* Brush your teeth for two minutes, twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste.

* The best time to brush is last thing at night, before you go to bed.

* Cut down on how much sugar you have and how often you have it.

* Keep sugar consumption to mealtimes. This will reduce the time your teeth are under attack.

* Use interdental brushes or floss to clean in between the teeth.

* Use mouthwash daily to remove bad bacteria and keep fresh breath.

* Sugar-free chewing gum can help produce saliva and neutralise the plaque acids in your mouth.

There has been a marked national decline in the numbers of suspected oral cancer cases being referred to hospital for investigation. Restrictions surrounding routine dental care currently prevent us from carrying out our standard screening for oral cancer during an appointment so we wanted to ensure our patients are equipped with the facts while they are at home.

If you are concerned or experiencing any of the symptoms below, it is important that you book an emergency appointment at Queensway Dental by calling 01642 554667.

A FREE, CONTACTLESS CONSULTATION FROM THE COMFORT OF YOUR OWN HOME!

We are adapting to the current situation and have launched a new service for those who would like to get started with their smile journey – a remote, contactless consultation!

The way this works is really easy. All you need to do is send us some photographs of your teeth and let us know what you would like to change about your smile. We will then arrange a remote consultation with you via a Zoom video call, a link will be sent to you prior to the consultation.

During the appointment we can give you a general idea of treatment options, cost and payment plans. We will also be able to answer any questions that you may have about dental treatment and arrange an appointment for you at our Billingham or Jesmond practice when it is safe for us to do so.

Finally, please do keep in touch via Facebook, Instagram or via our live chat on Queensway.co.uk.

Share your smiles, share your stories – we all love seeing them and now more than ever these lift our spirits.
