I spent a year and a half teaching A-level Law but decided to take a break from the classroom just over a year ago to spend more time with my husband and family. Back in my uni days I was a bartender extraordinaire.

I have been at Queensway for just over a year now, having started in September 2016.

Where would a patient usually find you in the practice?

Patients will almost always find me behind the desk at reception, usually with a coffee in hand but always with a smile.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

For me the most rewarding part of my job is going on a journey with our most anxious patients and watching their confidence grow with each visit. You know when you have done all you can to help patients when you can see them leave the clinic with a smile on their face.

What do you enjoy doing out of work?

We’re a big ice hockey and ball hockey family so outside of work we spend a lot of time at the forum ice arena watching the Billingham stars or at the Rotheram watching my brother play ball hockey. I also love baking, which goes down a treat with the other half.

What makes you smile?

We have a rule in our house which is you have to belly laugh at least once a day so we always try to make each other smile. We have a rescue cat called Molly, who is as daft as a brush so she never fails to make me grin everyday!
