Dental implants are a safe and efficient way to replace a missing tooth. At Queensway Dental, we have a range of dental implants for patients to choose from. What’s more, they are a perfect fit because they’re made right here in our dental laboratory.
Types of dental implants
If you are missing a single tooth, we can replace this with a single dental implant and a crown over the top. The single dental implant is made up of a titanium metal rod which is inserted into the jawbone. Once this is fitted and the crown is placed over the top, most people won’t be able to tell the difference between your dental implant and other natural teeth. This is a relatively simple procedure and won’t affect the teeth around the implant.
Mini Dental Implants
Mini dental implants are used to secure dentures. At Queensway Dental we use the 3M™ Mini Dental Implant (MDI) Denture Stabilization System. Mini titanium alloy dental implants are inserted into your jawbone and act as an anchor to stabilise your lower denture. If your denture(s) is very old and worn, you may need to purchase a new one. At your free consultation, we can assess the quality of your existing denture(s) and explain how they will work with mini dental implants.
All-on-4 ™ dental implants
This revolutionary technique can replace a full arch of permanent teeth with just four implants. This is achieved using a non-complex, bone grafting procedure. Two of the four implants are placed at an angle where the bridge is supported by the implants at the front of the mouth. This proves incredibly effective because it is here that the jaw bone is denser and stronger.
The other two implants are placed at the back of the mouth at 30 and 45 degree angles. This ensures maximum stability. The dental bridge, which is a crown that supports an arch of replacement teeth, is then attached to the socket of the implants. Bridges can be attached on the same day that the implants are placed and the patients can leave the practice with a full set of natural looking teeth.
All-on-4 dental implants are ideal for patients with loose dentures, failing crown or bridge work, or severe bone loss or gum recession. Furthermore, the implants can be fitted in a day.
