Smile update | October 2021

Welcome to Queensway Dental’s October newsletter.

The days are certainly starting to feel more autumnal, and we are beginning to think about Christmas. If it is anything like the rest of this year it will be here before we know it. If you are looking for something special to give to a loved one this Christmas, why not treat them to a Queensway Dental gift voucher? This could be used for for tooth whitening, skin products or to help someone achieve the dream smile they’ve always wanted.

Over the last month, it has been exciting and a joy to attend some regional exhibitions. We have been to student fresher fairs, wedding fairs and Teesside’s business expo exhibition. This has provided a glimpse of returning to normal and an opportunity to network with our wider community.

As always, we would like to thank our patients for your continued co-operation in adhering to our practice protocols including facemasks and social distancing. We appreciate it can be difficult when we no longer need to observe these things in other public places. We hope you can appreciate that medical settings are unique environments, and these policies are there to keep all our teams and patients as safe as we can.

We look forward to seeing you soon and in the meantime, take care and stay safe

Swapping the dance floor for a dentist chair – It was wonderful to meet the talented Aljaz Skorjanec of Strictly Come Dancing at our Billingham Practice last week.

Dr Will Carter will be treating @aljazskorjanec over the coming weeks to make sure he’s feeling confident with his smile each week on @bbcstrictly.

Good luck on Saturday, Aljaz – We will be rooting for you and @saradaviescc.

Dental trauma from a young age can often follow into adulthood but luckily for Gemma, she found Queensway Dental and her smile…

Gemma said: “After cracking a front tooth as a child I have had them veneered for 20 years. After terrible dental experiences in the past, when I lost one during lockdown, I had zero confidence and was terrified to get it fixed.

“I found Queensway online and noticed they specialised in treating anxious patients. After a few appointments, I was back to full dental health and preparing for my new smile.

“I opted for PMMA veneers on my top teeth to correct, size, shape and colour and now I can’t stop smiling!”

If you’re still struggling with the effects of trauma as a child and want to know more about, long term solutions to help you smile, why not book a free video consultation with one of our Treatment Coordinators?

It’s great to see wedding ‘season’ is back in full swing and we love speaking to excited brides and grooms to be, bridesmaids and parents of the bride/groom about how we can help improve their smiles ahead of the special day.

To the couples who have postponed their wedding numerous times and are still on that road, we hope your wedding is everything you imagined it would be and more.

In the meantime, we are here to offer any advice on how we can help you feel confident with your smile on the big day. From scales and polishes and tooth whitening, to veneers and dental implants, there are many treatment options and payment plans available – also don’t forget, we offer free, no obligation video consultations for new patients.

Patient Charlotte straightened her teeth with fixed braces at Queensway Orthodontics and finished off her smile with tooth whitening and composite bonding before her wedding day.

She said: “I researched ‘the best dental practices in the UK’ which is when I discovered Dr Will Carter at Queensway Dental. I booked a consultation with Queensway to discuss what could be done to get my smile back. I knew my expectations were high and any work completed had to be done within a tight timescale because I was due to get married with five months. Both Dr Guy Deeming of Queensway Orthodontics and Dr Will Carter were very clear about what could be done within the time we had.

I went ahead with a fixed brace and composite bonding which was completed within the five month timescale. I was incredibly grateful to get my smile back for the big day.”
