Rebecca qualified from Liverpool in Dentistry in 1993 and obtained my postgraduate Fellowship in Dental Surgery from Edinburgh in 1996. She worked in Chester, Sunderland & latterly as an Associate Specialist in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in Newcastle General Hospital over a period of 16 years, during which time she gained extensive experience in the field of oral and facial trauma, as well as dental extractions and wisdom teeth.
In 2010 she left the hospital to work as a Specialist Oral Surgeon for Queensway Dental Clinic in Darlington and completed my postgraduate diploma in conscious dental sedation at Newcastle University in June 2011. I carry out removal of teeth (including wisdom teeth) as well as soft tissue procedures under local anesthetic both with and without sedation. She sees approximately 1200 patients a year and after over 30 years, still really enjoys her job!
Rebecca also has an interest in teaching and has been an Advanced Trauma and Life Support (ATLS®) instructor in the past. She regularly teaches post-graduate Oral Surgery and was President of the British Association of Oral Surgeons 2017-2019. She has an interest in the medico-legal field and hold a Cardiff University Bond Solon Expert Witness certificate.
She started her aesthetics journey in 2010 and has since trained extensively, both nationally and internationally. Rebecca completed the FDGP (UK) Masterclass in Facial Aesthetics with distinction in 2015 and has been fortunate to train with a number of internationally renowned clinicians including Dr Zein Obagi, Mrs Sabrina Shah-Desai, Dr Kuldeep Minocha, Professor Bob Khanna, Mr Jeff Downie, Dr Raul Cetto, Dr Lee Walker and Dr Tapan Patel. She holds a Level 7 injectable qualification with Harley Academy and the QCCP medical aesthetic certificates (botulinum toxin & dermal fillers with merit). She is also a member of the JCCP.
Out of work, she enjoys family life with her husband and children - Charlie, Cat and Dan. She is self-proclaimed slow but enthusiastic runner, a passionate cook and a huge Bake Off fan!
