Dr Will Carter

We are delighted to introduce you to Dr Will Carter, he is a Master of Implant dentistry and cosmetic restorative dentistry, he was recently voted ‘Britains Young Dentist of the Year 2016’ and brings with him a wealth of dental knowledge and expertise from around the world.

Will is an experienced and caring dentist, his main clinical focus and area of interest is the dental rehabilitation of adult patients with complex dental problems, worn and broken teeth, using advanced implant, surgical and restorative techniques such as ceramic veneers and direct composite bonding. Will is a trained sedationist so is comfortable caring for anxious patients.

When Dr Carter is not creating wonderful durable smiles for his patients he is deeply committed providing training and education for dental colleagues, Will is a clinical trainer and mentor for the ‘Smile tube TV’ ultimate implant course - which leads dentists onto a diploma degree, he is a mentor and trainer for Clinical Dental Technicians through an approved university accredited scheme and lectures regularly at the local NHS ‘Bourne house’ training facility in Durham, on the subject of dental implant complications.

We are delighted to announce that after speaking at the national ADI forum in London in 2015, Will has been asked to speak at the British Dental Association ‘speakers corner’ his topic is advanced dental rehabilitation and risk assessment.

Outside of work Will enjoys spending time with his wife Louise Carter (Specialist Orthodontist at Queensway) and their two children Daisy and Huw.

  • 2002 - Awarded J N Proctor prize for restorative dentistry (Newcastle university)
  • 2003 - Won a scholarship to study dentistry in Helsinki Finland
  • 2004 - Graduated with BDS from Newcastle University
  • 2006 - Completed General Professional training (Newcastle dental hospital and private practice)
  • 2006 - Training in Botox and fillers
  • 2007 - Invisalign orthodontic training for general dental practitioners
  • 2008 - Awarded ‘Diploma in conscious sedation’ from Newcastle University (research into electronic cannula)
  • 2013 - Awarded Masters degree (with merit) in ‘Clinical Cosmetic Restorative Dentistry’ UCLAN
  • 2014 - Graduated as an alumni from KOIS academy in Seattle U.S.A.
  • 2015 - Awarded Masters degree (with merit) in ‘dental implantology’ from Warwick University

Memberships

Will has been a member of the British Dental Association, British Association of Cosmetic Dentistry (BASCD), International association of Dental Traumatology, Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry (SAAD), he has sat on the Local Dental Committee (LDC) and been involved in the local sedation network.

Will was invited to sit on the advisory panel for Nobel Biocare implant company, and is regularly one of the first in the UK to use and evaluate newly developed Implant technology.
