Giving BackAcross the North East
Supporting the community that trusts us with their smiles

Making people smile is what the team at Queensway Dental do best, and we have always been charity driven. As one of the North East’s leading dental groups, we believe the practices that care for local people should support them well beyond the treatment room.
From long-term charity partnerships to hands-on projects that help children look after their teeth, giving back is part of who we are.
Here are just some of the causes and community efforts close to our hearts, and the ways we try to make a positive impact across Teesside and the wider region.

The Teesside
Family Foundation
We are proud to be a Captain James Cook Corporate Partner of The Teesside Family Foundation (TTFF), donating £10,000 a year to help local causes right across the region, from grassroots sport to holidays for families who have fallen on hard times.
The Foundation is a registered charity run by volunteers, supporting families and individuals in Teesside who are underprivileged, in ill health or facing hardship. Each year they:
- Give 140 deserving Teesside families a free caravan holiday at Primrose Valley
- Pledge £1,000 every month to grassroots sport for equipment and sponsorship
- Donate £15,000 to help tackle poverty head on across Teesside
“When we found out about The Teesside Family Foundation and the support they can offer families in our area, we just had to get on board and help. We are really pleased to be part of something that is making a difference to people’s lives.”
— Dr Ian Lane, Managing Partner
We have also supported many other local projects over the years, including a Knockout Depression programme with Billingham Boxing Academy, gifts for The Salvation Army Middlesbrough Christmas Toy Appeal, supermarket vouchers for nominated families, and 1,000 selection boxes for primary schools in Billingham and Stockton.
Meet the
Tooth Troopers
Tooth decay is one of the biggest health problems facing young children, and rates across the North East are higher than the national average. Locally in Teesside, around a third of five-year-olds are affected. We wanted to help change that.
The Queensway Tooth Troopers, Toby and Tilly, are our friendly mascots who help make caring for teeth fun. Working with local schools and families, they help children learn healthy habits early and take the worry out of visiting the dentist:
- Help children build healthy habits early
- Take the worry out of visiting the dentist
- Support families and children across our region
“We work with pupils to help them understand the importance of good oral health and the long-term benefits of caring for their teeth and gums from an early age. Toby and Tilly help the children along the way, and we hope to spread these key messages far and wide.”
— Dr Paul Howlett, Dentist

Great North
Air Ambulance
We are proud supporters of the Great North Air Ambulance Service, the life-saving charity that brings emergency medical care to people across the North East, Cumbria and North Yorkshire.
The service relies almost entirely on public donations to keep its helicopters and rapid response teams flying. We are pleased to play our part in helping them be there when local people need them most.
